Medit Scanners: Solutions for forward-thinking dentistry
At Elite Dental, we believe in offering you the best, most up-to-date technology and dental advancements. This way, we can treat you efficiently, effectively, and comfortably.
We are using Medit 3-D scanners which are state-of-the-art, precise intraoral scanners. These scanners are extremely precise in capturing a 3-D image of the inside of your mouth and teeth, allowing us to gather the most accurate information, a quicker treatment, and to ensure your comfort.
Intraoral scanners eliminate the need for uncomfortable impressions. They increase efficiency, provide a non-invasive experience, and can be applied to most treatments.
With its impressive speed and powderless system, the i500 allows for a smoother scanning experience, shortening turnaround time and increasing the productivity of your dental appointments.
Digital Impression Systems
Elite Dental has just introduced the most advanced dental digital impression system available – the Cerec Omnicam – into its practice.
For Elite Dental patients, this device is the least intrusive scanner made and requires no powder to be used in your mouth and no impression material. For the Elite Dental professional staff, this device is efficient, and easy for the dentists to use. The scanner is designed for access, allows for easy rotation of the camera in a patient’s mouth, and the tiny camera tip guarantees the best lens positioning. As the camera moves over the teeth, a photorealistic clinical image is displayed in full-color with crisp clarity and impeccable detail. Images are provided in real time with incredible quality. The Cerec Omnicam is state-of-the-art.
Elite Dental also uses Medit’s advanced Intraoral Scanner. This lightweight tool is able to monitor and capture 3D in-motion images and is optimized for increased patient convenience when oral scanning is required for extended periods. This technology allows our dentists to perform numerous types of oral scans including:
- Pre-Operation scans
- Impression scans
- High-resolution scans
- Occlusion scans
In addition, we use CAD-Ray software that allows us to turn these intraoral scans into the necessary designs to be fabricated) either through printing or milling).
Digital X-ray technology is also used at Elite Dental of Staten Island, and is the most advanced X-ray technology to date.
This new technology allows our dental professionals to reduce the radiation our patients are exposed to by 80-90% (in comparison to the already low exposure rates of traditional X-ray technology.
The use of Digital X-ray technology also allows our dentists to reveal a range of dental concerns that may not be visible by traditional means. These concerns can include:
• Jaw bone loss
• Cysts or abscesses
• Cancerous and benign tumours
• Incorrect tooth and root positioning
• Issues inside the tooth and below the gum line
Digital photography is also a tool we use at our New York based dental practice that is incredibly useful when it comes to patient education.
This means that dental records are 100% portable and can be shared with other professionals in circumstances where you may need to move location, or in cases where the team at Elite Dental of SI may need to work collaboratively with outside specialists.
Through the use of digital dental photography we can educate our patients in regards to any dental concerns they may currently be experiencing and the various treatment options available to them in non-technical language that is easy to understand. This is just one of the ways in which we empower our patients to take control of their wellness.

Beyond traditional technology
Sirona 3D imaging with new Cone Beam technology goes beyond traditional diagnostics and treatment capabilities. It is able to do this by calculating a large volume 3D image set, more than 200 exposures, in a single low-dose 3D scan of 15 seconds or less. Galileos® not only shows 3D displays in perfect image quality, it also enables clear navigation and diagnosis in the traditional panoramic, cephalometric and cross-sectional displays.
The Sirona 3D imaging system provides a three dimensional image of the patient on the computer screen, making the diagnosis easier and the implant treatment both safer and more predictable. Our team is also capable of customizing the treatment for individual patients, enabling a quicker and more comfortable process.
