Discreet: The main and most obvious difference is that Invisalign is much more discreet and less noticeable than metal braces.
Comfortable: Whilst Invisalign aligners will take a bit of getting used to, they are often reported as being comfortable to wear thanks to their custom fit and use of smooth materials. Traditional braces can be harsher on the mouth due to the metal wires and brackets.
Cost: Cost varies depending on the patient’s individual needs for both traditional braces and Invisalign. Although Invisalign tends to be more expensive than traditional braces, they do often take less time.
Treatment Time: Another notable difference is that Invisalign is often quicker to achieve beautiful smiles than fixed braces but this, of course, depends on each individual case. Invisalign wearers typically finish treatment within 6-18 months whereas traditional braces are usually worn for 18-24 months on average.
