Crowns and Bridges

Crowns can help recreate your beautiful smile and repair the structure and function of any tooth.

This treatment can be a solution to severely damaged, decayed, weakened or esthetically displeasing teeth. This can be due to:

  • Large fillings
  • Aging
  • Grinding (bruxism)
  • Misaligned bite
  • Poor oral hygiene
  • Discoloration
  • Root canal therapy

A Crown (also known as a cap), is a tooth like covering that is placed over a carefully prepared existing tooth, and helps to strengthen, protect and improve the appearance of damaged teeth.

Elite Dental of Staten Island has invested in the latest technology to provide patients with world class dental treatments all the while saving precious time and money. Traditionally, a crown replacement would be conducted over multiple dental appointments, but this is not the case when you make an appointment at Elite Dental, as we use the revolutionary CEREC technology.

CEREC (Chair-side Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics) is a testament to our commitment to world class dental treatments, and a crown can now be completed in a single dental appointment.

Bridgework can restore the health and appearance of smiles that have suffered multiple tooth loss.

A bridge is a device that is secured to surrounding teeth via crowns, and can be used to replace one or more missing teeth. This treatment will restore lost teeth, support remaining teeth and help keep teeth in proper position and alignment. Our CEREC technology is used during bridgework to provide a swift, high quality treatment. It is important to note that bridges are only a viable treatment option if there are some surrounding natural teeth that remain. If this is not the case, dental implants can be a viable option for total tooth replacement.

Using a series of targeted exercises, myofunctional therapy creates harmony between the facial muscles to ensure effective breathing, speaking, eating and socializing.
